This Sunday sees us play the club’s first semi-final since 2001. Despite strong opposition in Raydon Ravens, I feel we have the players available to us to get a result and reach our first every cup final.
The squad list was filled within four hours of my email, which shows the desire from everyone to be involved and we will be taking a full bench of five on Sunday morning.
It is important to know that Daryl, Rich and I have been planning for this match since the quarter-final win. We have all been looking at what players can be made available and Daryl has given a lot of thought to who he would like in the squad and how he wants to set-up.
I therefore ask that come Sunday morning, when the starting eleven is announced, you respect the decisions that have been made. Daryl will have picked a team and a line up that he feels can win the match and some of you will have to settle for the bench.
If you are on the bench, you will inevitably be disappointed but it is important for the squad that you accept it and prepare yourself for if/when you are called upon. Ultimately, this is a huge game for everyone at the club and the result is the most important thing.
I trust that everyone will be pulling in the same direction and that you will only want what is best for your team-mates and you will be behind one another for the whole game.
