Stu Goldsmith scores his 90th goal for Playford

Stu Goldsmith scored his 90th Playford goal when he completed the scoring in the 9-3 rout of inningham Fliers.

The match was Stu's third for the Reserves and as well as ending the scoring he also opened the scoring and assisted the second.

He has four goals this season, including a belter against Pauls, from the match report; "Stu Goldsmith collects a bouncing ball in midfield and immediately knocks the ball over an opposing midfielder to himself. As he reaches the now dropping ball he hits it first time on the volley and the shot flies in over the 'keeper into the top corner of the net. The oppsoing supports and subsitutes can only applaud the wonderous effort."

His first goal came way back in 2001. Stu had been signed, medal in hand, in a transfer coup from league winners Melton YCOB and three matches into his debut campaign he struck against Cherrytree. He went on to finish the season on 7.

Stu's best return in front of goal was the 2007/2008 when he played in every minute of Chris Jones' first season in charge and scored 18 goals. This included a six game scoring steak.

He became the 13th Hattrick scorer when he scored his three against Real Shepherd and Dog.

His 75th goal was to give Playford a shock 1-0 lead against Kitchener Taverners playing with only 9 men. This is a feat he seems to like achieving, having previously done it against Railway United in 2007.
